Enjoying the Area

 

In you live or work in Springfield, then you probably already know of many of the great things to enjoy in Springfield.  If you're new to the area, or just learning about our community, please take some time to see how easy it is to enjoy Springfield!  From our beautiful Farmers Market to our great park system, there is much to do: 

 

  • Springfield offers one of the best disc golf courses in west Michigan.  The professionally designed course located in Begg Park sees hundreds of players each week, and hosts numerous tournaments each year.  The course even played host to the 2008 Disc Golf World Championships.
  • The Springfield Farmers Market is the biggest in Calhoun County.  Our 9,500 square foot building hosts the market two days each week and also provides air conditioned restrooms and a great bistro area to sit and enjoy the market happenings.  The Market plays host to many events each season, including craft shows, our annual classic car show, our annual chili cook off, a holiday market, an Easter Egg hunt, and a huge Halloween event.  Attending the Springfield Farmers Market, located at Begg Park is a great way to enjoy Springfield.  It's also a great way to enjoy friends and family, as it's available for private rental!
  • Taking a ride on the Linear Park Path is a great way to enjoy Springfield.  You can access the path at many points throughout the City, and travel for miles. The path is interconnected with the City of Battle Creek's pathway system, so you can enjoy the entire region, whether you're walking, running, biking, or skating.
  • Springfield his home to Springbrook Golf Course - one of the most beautiful and challenging (and affordable) courses in the area.  Springbrook offers a number of golf leagues and specials, so stop in and play a round!
  • The Leila Arboretum, located in the City of Battle Creek, offers a great place for families to learn about and enjoy plant life.
  • The Binder Park Zoo is located just south of Battle Creek.  The 433 acre zoo is home to over 600 animals and sees 250,000 visitors per year.  Come by and see the snow leopard, feed the giraffes, and spend some time on the Wild Africa Safari!
  • Each 4th of July holiday, the Kellogg Airport hosts the Field of Flight Air Show.  A great way to enjoy the area is to visit during the festival and watch the hot air balloons, stunt planes, musical performances, and enjoy the midway!
  • The City of Battle Creek operates Full Blast Family Entertainment Center.  With a water park, arcade, fitness area, basketball courts, and much more to do, this is another great way to enjoy the area!
