The Springfield Farmer's Market and Banquet Center, located in beautiful Begg Park, was opened in 2003 thanks to a substantial investment be the City of Springfield and the Springfield Tax Increment Finance Authority. Additionally, the facility benefited from major renovations in 2010 thanks to a grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. The renovations allowed for the creation of a banquet center, a 1200 sf commercial kitchen, 10 permanent vendor locations, and other improvements that helped us move our seasonal market to a year-round market.
The Springfield Farmers Market is open to the public year-round. During the winter months, we're open Saturdays 10a-2p, and during the normal market season, we are open Saturdays 8a-1p. The Farmer's Market building also houses Bill's Hot Dog Factory, and Law's This and That - are open Monday-Saturday.
There is also a weekly All-County Car Cruise held at the Farmers Market every Tuesday (June-September) from 5p to 7p. During that time, Bill's Hot Dog Factory will be open - and will have food specials!
The Farmer's Market is located at 503 Military Avenue, just off M-96. There is space available for crafters, farmers, bakers, home-based businesses, and many other users. In addition, this facility can be rented for private events such as family reunions, company picnics, wedding receptions, church events, and more. Please note that you must provide your own disc. Course maps are available on site or by contacting the City of Springfield. For a link to other information regarding our course click here.
The City of Springfield has also invested in new playground equipment, picnic tables, an outdoor entertainment area, and a large pavilion at the park. There's much beautiful green space to enjoy; a true family environment. We hope to see you there!
