Utility Billing

tapThe Utility Department is responsible for utility billing and coordinating garbage services. Residential customers are billed bi-monthly and commercial customers (including apartment complexes and townhomes) are billed monthly.  Garbage and recycling service (provided by Waste Management) is included with water service for residential customers. One 96 gallon garbage cart, one 96 gallon yard waste cart and one 64 gallon recycling cart are included in residential garbage service.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: ALL MATTRESSES & BOX SPRINGS PLACED CURB-SIDE FOR PICK-UP MUST BE WRAPPED IN PLASTIC. 

MATTRESS BAGS ARE AVAILABLE AT CITY HALL FOR HOMEOWNERS AND RESIDENTS.

With increasing cases of bed bugs, Waste Management requires all mattresses and box springs to be wrapped in plastic for the protection of their drivers. Mattresses and box springs not wrapped in plastic will not be taken.  Mattress bags are available at City Hall for residents at no cost. Bulk item collection is the fourth Monday of each month, call (269) 965-8014 or email Utility Billing to report a bulk item that needs to be collected. One bulk item per month is included with residential garbage service. Additional items will be collected when prepaid by resident. Call Waste Management at (866) 797-9018 for details.

Quick Facts:

Garbage and Yard Waste pick-up is Monday please have all items to the curb by 6:00 am.
Yard Waste pick-up is the first Monday in April through the last Monday in November.
Recycling: Every other Monday see the recycling map and calendar

Things happen, if for some reason your garbage, yard waste or recycling is missed or one of your carts is damaged; please contact City Hall at (269) 965-8014 we will contact Waste Management on your behalf.
