Springfield Dog Park Grand Opening 08/25/2022 at 11:00 am

Public Invited to Springfield Dog Park Grand Opening on August 25

SPRINGFIELD, Mich. (August 8, 2022) – Mayor Harry Burdett and members of the City of Springfield City Council invite the public to a grand opening ceremony for the Springfield Dog Park at Rothchild Park on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Rothchild Park located at 601 Helmer Road. “Springfield Dog Park is the first of its kind in Springfield, and the newest park where dogs and their owners make new connections,” Mayor Burdett said. The dog park features perimeter fencing, double gate entry, a water spigot, benches, and waste stations. The City of Springfield worked with dog park advocates from Home Run Dog Park to develop the park space and construct agility equipment. The cost to construct the dog park was approximately $25,000, with funding from one-time infrastructure dollars. The park was designed to build off the existing park layout and future amenities as funds become available through donations or sponsorships. If you are interested in donating to the park, please contact the Battle Creek Community Foundation at (269) 962-2181.
