The Finance Department is committed to providing accurate accounts of all Springfield's financial transactions and the stewardship of the City's monetary resources and assets. We endeavor to provide comprehensive support to the city manager, department heads, our elected officials and taxpayers. You Should Know
Annually, the City’s financial records are audited by an independent audit firm to ensure the City is in compliance with Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Auditors also verify the City’s financial records and internal controls are in compliance with federal and state laws. For over 15 years, the City’s financial records have received a ‘clean opinion’ and the highest level of certification awarded by an independent audit firm.
